The One Armed InnkeeperPosted by admin on April 26, 2013
For those of you who have stayed with us at our Asheville bed and breakfast inn, The 1899 Wright Inn and Carriage House, you may have witnessed and appreciated Bob’s Type A personality, I wanted to report there is bad news on the horizon. On April 6, the last day of our trip to Key West, and the only day it rained, Bob slipped and fell on the boardwalk. Upon returning home, he quickly got an appointment for an MRI and saw an orthopedic surgeon who determined he has a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
The hardest part is waiting until May 2nd for his surgery. His arm/shoulder will be immobilized six to eight weeks. The good thing is he’s right handed, the bad thing is he can’t stand not being able to get into the mix of things and handle every problem and situation.
The staff and I are planning ways to keep him sitting and out of trouble or harm’s way. We don’t want him active too early and have to have the surgery redone.
So if you will be staying with us in the near future, just keep him sitting and talking in the dining room or parlors. Please don’t ask him to carry your luggage!!!
