Lake Lure and the Fall Color Spectacular Show
Posted by admin on September 20, 2009
One of the most highly recommended Day Trips, while staying at our beautiful Asheville Bed and Breakfast Inn, is a short drive to Lake Lure.
While looking over the beautiful vistas atop Chimney Rock, you will notice a lake in the distance. It’s Lake Lure and about a five minute drive from the “Rock” parking lot.
It’s worth the trip to see autumn’s colors reflected in the water. You might consider a leisurely boat trip to see some local attractions and landmarks. For all you “Dirty Dancing” movie fans, you’ll see where part of the movie was made. You’ll also hear history and legends of Hickory Nut Gorge.
Adjacent to the beach area is the nostalgic 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. It is worth the time to look inside and see the recently restored old inn with its unique collection of art and antiques.
Have a relaxing beverage at the Moose and Goose lounge or a reasonably priced meal in the Veranda Restaurant.
Lake Lure is another place to relax and enjoy mountain views full of the rich colors of the season.
