B&B Veterans Day Recognition ProgramPosted by wrightinn_bob on November 22, 2013
All of the Asheville bed and breakfast inns that are part of the Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association, opened their doors to our military veterans by providing a free night stay on Nov. 10 and/or 11th . It was our small way to say thank you to our vets and telling them how much we appreciate their service.
Each couple was special but I specifically want to mention Tracey and Jeff Jolly, whose gesture brought tears to our eyes. Jeff is a Coast Guard veteran. Tracey and Jeff’s son was a Marine. Tracey’s father was also a WW II Marine. As he lay ill in the Veteran’s Hospital, they purchased a Marine Veteran hat for him. He never got to wear it but they kept it for sentimental reasons, not knowing what to do with it.
“Semper Fi Marine”
Recognition of our Military veterans is something that The 1899 Wright Inn & Carriage House eagerly participates in every year. I, as one of those vets, have a very personal reason for expressing my appreciation to these unsung hero’s for the sacrifices they have endured. Click on the above link to read an article in the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper detailing some of the reasons we endorse this event.
We look forward to the B&Bs for Vets celebration which is sponsored by the Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association, and takes place on Veterans Day each year.
